Dynamics NAV Certified Solution for Apparel & Fashion?

Written on January 28, 2015 by Caterina Lyng

A Microsoft Dynamics NAV Certified solution for the apparel and fashion industry. - Does such a solution exist, and what exactly does CfMD mean?

In this blog post, we will start by having a look at what an industry solution is, and continue with what it means when a solution can carry the CfMD badge "Certified for Microsoft Dynamics".

Industry Solution Based On NAV

By itself, Dynamics NAV is designed to be a flexible solution that can be used by companies of all sizes and across all sectors. This broad reach means that functionality that supports industry-specific ways of working often needs to be developed and added for individual companies. Think of for instance the differences in processes and regulations between an apparel company and a pharmaceutical company.

Microsoft Partners worldwide are able to assist companies in having Dynamics NAV customized to their needs. However, an industry solution that adds and enhances functionality in Dynamics NAV for a specific industry can perhaps be a better option.

Many Microsoft Partners have specialized in specific industries and developed complete Dynamics NAV-based solutions for their selected industries.

In the illustration below, you can see the difference between a single company carrying the development of a solution vs. implementing an industry solution that is supported by an entire network.

Uniform Way of Working?

You might be wondering if implementing an industry solution means that your company has to work in the exact same way as all other companies using the solution. It does not.

TRIMIT Fashion is adapted to your unique ways of working by using parameters and variables. Not sure what that means? For a simplified example, imagine a box called "My Box". When I show you the box, it has these properties:

  • Height: 10 cm
  • Width: 10 cm
  • Color: orange

However, I can change the values for height, width, and color and get a very different look, but the name has not changed. It is still what I called "My Box".

What Does CfMD Mean?

CfMD stands for Certified for Microsoft Dynamics. It means that both the software solution and the partner have met Microsoft's highest standards:

  • The software solution has demonstrated development quality and compatibility.
  • The partner has customers who are successfully using the solution and are willing to recommend it. Furthermore, the Partner is Gold Certified and enrolled in a Partner Service Plan with Microsoft.

TRIMIT is proud that our solution has earned the Certified for Microsoft Dynamics accreditation
